About Michael
Michael A. Wells is a poet, a baseball aficionado, lover of wine and a Diet Coke addict. He makes his home in a Kansas City, Missouri suburb with his wife and pets. His work has appeared in a variety of print and online journals such as Rockhurst Fine Arts Review, Rose & Thorn Journal, Boston Literary Magazine, Right Hand Pointing, and WestWard Quarterly. Michael has been a frequent reader at events in the the Kansas City area. He is currently working on a poetry manuscript and routinely blogs at Stickpoet Superhero on poetry, culture and occasionally on social issues.
2005-2006 Silver Senior Missouri Poet Laureate Award- Michael's poem Coming Out was judged the runner up in the 2005-2006 Missouri Senior Poet Laureate contest.
In 2011 two of Michael's poems appeared in the exhibit "Synesthesia" pared with paintings by the talented Jennifer Rivera an abstract artist from the Kansas City area. Jennifer selected of poems from various poets and utilized them as the inspiration for paintings used in the exhibit.
